Speaker Profile: Alfred Yu

Alfred Yu has a long-standing research interest in ultrasound imaging and therapeutics. He is a Research Assistant Professor in the Medical Engineering Program and the Principal Investigator of the Biomedical Ultrasound Laboratory at the University of Hong Kong. His laboratory is now actively investigating the mechanistic foundations of therapeutic ultrasound and, in parallel, making various imaging innovations for complex flow visualization. Grew up in western Canada, Alfred obtained his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Calgary, and he received his M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is an IEEE Senior Member and the Past Chairperson of the IEEE-EMBS Hong Kong Chapter. He is now an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics Ferroelectrics & Frequency Control and an Editorial Board Member of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology.
